Good Morning Mermaids & Pirates! 2023

Well Good Morning Mermaids & Pirates!  It has been a LONG time since I have made a post here, did you miss me?  LOL I am going to begin writing again after an extended hiatus to take some time to focus on me.  In the past 10 years I have been a little busy and now I have more time to share with others and hopefully inspire you and make some new "friends" in the process.  I am back in school and working on my degree in Sociology.  I started and ended a charity event called "Rock Against Cancer" and I just started a new social impact community called "Project Give Love".  I also lost a few loved ones and gained a lot more perspective on life.

Which brings me to ... today.  Living in this moment.  Right here and right now.  It is a really hard concept for most people to grasp.  It is very difficult for me too. We have been trained to do more, be more and want more.  However, isn't it also nice to just be happy with who you are in the moments too? Mindfulness and Self-Care are so important and look different to different people.  For me, it looks like waking up early, hearing the birds chirp, drinking a cup of coffee, watching a sunrise and seeing the water. It is where I find my peace, in the silence of a new day.  It is also where I gain inspiration.

This year I will turn fifty ... yes, 50.  I know it is hard to believe because I look a lot younger, however my stomach and my hormones talk differently to me.  I do not try to set new year's "resolutions"; however, I did pick a word of the year.  My word this year was Intention.  I want to live my life with more intention.  I want to intentionally start a new gig, hence Project Give Love.  I want to intentionally launch it on Valentine's Day, not for the reasons you would obviously think.  I want to intentionally go back to school to learn more about a subject I loved my freshman year of college back in 1991.  I want to intentionally travel to places I have never been in ... America.  I want to intentionally let go of all the things that hold me back.  And I want to intentionally fall in love for all the right reasons with all the right things and all the right people.

This is what my 50th year will look like.  Living a life of intention that only I can imagine possible.  I will leave you with one of my favorite new quotes in the photo from Ram Dass.  Go find your people and your places and embrace them all.  XO 💗PL143
