Jersey Baby!!!
So ...I began one of my two resolutions this weekend with one of my best friends, Suzie, traveling MORE! We decided that were going to travel to "places unknown" - so where did we decide to go.....Jersey Baby! Now, I have been there many times before, however I have never been to the infamous Seaside Heights area, home of the MTV Show Jersey Shore. So, after plenty of research & finding a great hotel - The Boardwalk Seaport Inn - we made a decision in like an hour & BOOM our room was booked!! Upon our arrival our gracious host, Zico, had a grill master, Rob, waiting there for us with chicken & steak all ready to be devoured. We then shared in some conversation & adult beverages & then realized that we were just 2 doors down from the house that they film MTV's Jersey Shore - HOLLA!! So, of course we had to go check it out. What a great little spot! The cast is not there now as filming is over so you can rent the joint for the bargain price of $2500 a DAY!!! Really?!?!?! At any rate we took pics in front of the Italian Flag Garage door & left our John Hancock's on the door - this is what people do there - they paint the door every WEEK because they get so many signatures!
We then decided to go put on our "shirt before the shirt" & get ourselves all dolled up to go down to Hemingway's Cafe - the club where the cast of Jersey Shore spends allot of nights dancing & fist pumping. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a Sweet 16 Party that had so much bling & bronzer it was unthinkable that there was this much Guidette in one place. Suzie had never been to Jersey so of course she was taken back a bit by the "very forward", as she put it, Guidos of the Jersey Shore. We eventually made friends with some great Italian locals & had a blast!! Dancing, drinking, telling stories & just having fun!!
The next day we had to grab a little breakfast, go down to The Shore Store, workplace of the Jersey Shore cast, and then of course buy a one-of-a-kind tshirt at the store. What fun we had!! Then it was off to watch the New York Giants score a win at The Crab Claw in Lavallette with Uncle Vinny & Cousin John, our now new 'Jersey Family". Get it? "New Jersey Family"....LOL
You see it's these little things in life we call "decisions" that make all the difference. Deciding to go spur of the moment to take advantage of such a gorgeous Jan weather weekend, sharing the time with a great friend who loves the beach as much as I do, being open to trying new things & meeting new people .. to me ... that's what life is all about .... LIVING IT!!!
